We’re Still Alive

Hey gang! I’m a negligent PR representative! :D

Sorry, things have been chaotic here. I don’t usually like to admit it when the game takes a backseat to other priorities, but that’s been going on for the last week or so – and will likely continue until basically September. But while the progress has been slow, we’re still going!

For example, we’ve started working with a sound designer! Matt has already helped us with a couple sounds that I couldn’t find off FreeSound.org, and we look forward to working with him for a while. :D

TL;DR: we’re still alive, we’re working with an awesome sound designer, we’ll be back to full steam in September.

Cheers!

Down

Sorry guys; Red Chasm was so popular this weekend that we went over our bandwidth limit. :\

But not to worry! We’ve fixed it, and it shouldn’t happen again! And if it does, we know how to fix it! :D

Thanks so much for your interest in Red Chasm, and we’re glad you like it! :D

Red Chasm on FreeIndieGam.es

Thanks so much to Terry Cavanagh and the gang over at FreeIndieGam.es for mentioning Red Chasm!

For those who don’t know, FreeIndieGam.es is a site that posts a handful of free-to-play indie games every day; if you’re ever bored and want to see what’s out there, you should check it out. It was started by Terry Cavanagh; you may know him from such indie games as VVVVVV, ChatChat, and Hexagon (and so many more!)

Anyway, the link is here, and again: thanks guys!

Red Chasm Will Be Released June 19th

So, I fully acknowledge that I said that Red Chasm would come out today. Yup, that’s my bad. However, I promise with 100% odds of it happening that it’ll come out tomorrow. Guaranteed.

Sorry about that, guys. In the meantime, please enjoy a screenshot of one of the first stages of our tester analytics: a rough approximation of a heatmap!

Indie Dev Grant

Kyttaro Games‘ “Bundle In A Box” comes with an added bonus this time around; based on sales, a central pot will be built with the intent of giving it to one lucky developer. But which developer? We are among 17 worthy opponents, and starting Monday, voting opens to the public. You get to pick who gets the money!

Not gonna lie, I’m super excited that we’re in the running here, and having looked at the competition, am honored to be part of it. ;)

Best of luck to all!

Progress Report

So! Things are really starting to move. At this point, we’ve finished about half of the tutorial section, and I get to write tons of lines for our awesome voice actor – which is terrifying, but still plenty of fun.

The tutorial section we’ve broken into three sections for development purposes, based on the crystals used: Section 1 is complete (sans voice acting) and is going into closed testing next week, and Section 2 still needs scripting and a couple more rounds of in-house testing before we put it out. Section 3 is in development.

To tide you over until our public beta (we’re aiming for July), here’s a shot of one of our dark crystals! At least, as much as you can see of it. ;)

Oops

Yeah, my bad. Our contact email was wrong on the “Contact Us” page – now it’s been fixed. However, if you sent us an email and didn’t get a response, that’s why.

If you want to email us, either email us individually from the “About Us” page, or at info@minionworksgames.com.

Sorry about that!

Red Chasm

The observant among you may notice that we’ve added a game to our list: Red Chasm; we were inspired by the Edge Create Competition and decided to give it a try.

So head on over to the game page to check it out! The competition ends on the 17th of this month (yeah, it’s terrifyingly close), so Red Chasm will be done very shortly. More info to come.

But in the meantime, you can check out our game pages here, check us out on IndieDB; or simply appreciate this screenshot while you wait. We’re close to getting something playable out – so keep checking back!
